Wedding Celebration Day!

To celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage on Saturday 19th May, we will be having our own ‘Royal Wedding Day’ school celebration events on Friday 18th May. We are having a celebration day filled with activities to mark this special occasion in our national life. These include a celebration picnic lunch outside in the playground (weather permitting) and History, Literacy or Art-based activities throughout the day. The children will have the opportunity to learn more about the Royal Family and their role in Britain and the Commonwealth, they will also to think about special celebrations in our own lives. Children are invited to wear their finest clothes, fit for a royal celebration. This can include fancy dress royalty outfits or their best wedding/special occasion outfit! We will have a chance to share these activities and admire the children’s outfits when we gather together for assembly at the end of the day. Our catering staff, led by Head Chef Dan, are preparing a picnic-style lunch with hot food for the celebration next Friday. If your child normally has packed lunch but you would like them to have the school celebration lunch that day, please let the office know by Wednesday. All the children will be together during the picnic lunch, whether they are having school dinner or their own packed lunch, as we want everyone to be part of this celebration.
