Geography is concerned with the study of people and places both near and far. It introduces the world with all its variety and contrasts as part of a broad and balanced curriculum. Children learn about rivers, places, settlements and environmental change. In investigating places and themes, children’s geographical skills are developed as they use enquiry skills to research topics. Children learn how to use maps and globes, develop fieldwork techniques and methods and to observe and ask questions. Through research and observations the children will form their own views and opinions about the world they live in.
