Book Week’ took place in November throughout the school with many different activities such as an author visit and reading challenges to promote and celebrate reading!
This is such a valuable and important life-skill for children to develop and a very important part of our daily curriculum. We also want to encourage children to develop an enjoyment of reading and read for pleasure. The week started with a ’Book Character’ dress up day and the children made a fantastic effort with their costumes. We had well-known characters from modern but also classic children’s stories and the variety of the characters was amazing.
Thank you to the children and also to you for all your enthusiasm and hard work preparing for book character day and please have a look at the selection of photos already on the ‘Class Pages’ sections of the website.
We also held a Book Fair in the school during Book Week. A final total of £800 worth of books were sold at the Book Fair and the school received the same value of books for classes to enjoy. A lovely selection of books was chosen for each of the ten classrooms, to the value of £80 per class. Thank you again for your fantastic support of this event and helping us provide so many wonderful new books in classes.
