We say goodbye this week to our amazing Year 6 pupils as they finish primary school and move on to their new secondary schools. They have been a really wonderful Year 6 group and we are very proud of the way they have supported each other throughout the year. They had a fantastic time recently on School Journey and have been great representatives for the school at all the different events and activities they have taken part in throughout the year. Thank you also to our team of Year 6 staff who have worked with the children to support them achieving so highly and being well prepared for secondary school. It is also very important to thank all the staff who have worked with such commitment to the children throughout their years at St. Dominic’s school.
The children shared a very moving ‘Goodbye’ assembly with their families on Monday 17th July and it was lovely to hear them talk about their years at the school, their achievements and the friends they have made.
The Year 6 children also led the ‘Leaver’s Mass’ on Tuesday 18th July and we were delighted so many parents/carers and family members were able to join us at this special celebration. During the Mass the children shared memories of their time at the school and celebrated their achievements. We prayed for the children as they begin the next part of their faith journey and for their continued success in the future.
On Wednesday 19th July, the children released balloons and thought about their hopes and dreams for the future. The rest of the school joined them for this lovely final celebration. Good bye and good luck Year 6, we’ll miss you but know you will continue to do great things!
