After our wonderful Early Years and Key Stage 1 Christmas plays last week, this week it was the turn of our Key Stage 2 classes. Children from Years 3 to 6 joined together to tell the story of the Nativity, using a mixture of modern and traditional hymns and carols. The concert took place in the Church on Monday afternoon and was a very special end to all of our recent celebrations in school as we get ready for the birth of God’s son, Jesus.
The children sang and performed the story beautifully and we were very proud of the effort shown by every child to make the concert such a success. The children performed very confidently, whether they were part of a choir group, actors, soloists or musicians.
Thanks to all the children and the whole team of staff working with them to ensure the performance was of such a high standard. A special thanks must also go to Miss Knight who has led the organisation of the concert and rehearsals and also our specialist music teacher, Mr Gamage, for his work with the singing and music. Finally, thank you to Fr. Lawrence for joining us and for making the Church available for the concert, this helped to create a very special atmosphere. Rehearsals for all the concerts began early in November and everyone has worked very hard to make them such a success!
