NSPCC assembly

On Monday 15th January, We were delighted to welcome Jenna from the NSPCC charity. Jenna joined the whole school in assembly to collect a cheque of an incredible amount of £1,019 raised by our wonderful school community. We were very lucky to have the NSPCC come in last year and deliver workshops to support the message of children being safe and having the right to be safe. We wanted to say thank you by choosing the NSPCC as our chosen charity and raise money for them. Jenna spoke about the important work done by the charity and how the money will help support that work.

We would like to say a huge thank you to parents and children for your very generous support of each event including the Christmas jumper day fundraiser and tickets for the Nativity plays. We would also like to say thank you to our School Council for organising these events. Nursery and Reception classes made and decorated cakes and biscuits and sold these after school. Years 1 and 2 classes had a sponsored ‘Dance-off’ competition and had lots of fun out-dancing each other! Years 3 and 4 classes also had an Advent fundraising sale after school on Friday, selling Christmas calendars and decorations they had made. Years 5 and 6 classes had a sponsored ‘Fun Run’ one morning and worked up an appetite for Christmas lunch that day!
