There have been some changes to our planned Sports Day at Parliament Hill track on Wednesday 22nd May. The track company contacted us recently to let us know about maintenance work that was about to start on the track and take place over several weeks. They advised that this work may reduce the space and affect events taking place.

 

The maintenance work has now started and we have been able to see how it affects our plans for Sports Day.  Work is taking place on four inner lanes of the track and the inner circular grass area where we normally hold our events. The reduction of safe space would impact the running of our events successfully and safely, resulting in us not being able to guarantee the safety of our children. Therefore, for these reasons we have made alternative arrangements for Sports Day and are moving the dates to a number of days after the half-term.

 

Sports afternoons will now take place at school, we will be using the back playground and basketball court areas. Coach Soul will organise and run the events along with the staff working with each class. We very much hope you will be able to join us and see your child/children taking part in the different events.

 

The rearranged Sports afternoons will take place in the week beginning

Monday 10th June 2019, in the second part of the afternoon and will finish for home-time. The children will be organised into two year groups and will complete their Sports Day events within school. The timetable for events is as follows:

 

 

On their selected day, the children will need to be bring in their P.E. kits and a water bottle. A sun hut or sun-cream can also be supplied if needed on the day.
