EYFS - How to Catch a Star
Our key text in EYFS this week is ‘How to Catch a Star’ by Oliver Jeffers. The children in EYFS have had a wonderful week retelling the story and using story maps and actions to help us remember the key events. In the story, the boy uses his rocket to go to space to catch the star. The children were inspired by this part of the story and took part in lots of Space themed activities including transforming out outdoor role-play area into a Space Station. We covered our bikes in foil to make space buggies, created our own astronaut passes to enter the Space Station by writing our names and have even been learning about some of the planets in space. Antonio said, “I know the Red Planet… its Mars.” Ethan said, “Neptune is coldest and windiest planet because it’s so far away from the sun.” Well done EYFS – You are out of this World!
