Goodbye Year 6
We say goodbye to our wonderful Year 6 pupils today as they finish primary school and move on to their new secondary schools. They have been a fantastic Year 6 group and we are very proud of the way they worked so hard to be the best they can be. They really enjoyed their residential School Journey earlier this month and have been great representatives for the school at all the different events and activities they have taken part in throughout the year.
Thank you also to our team of Year 6 staff who have worked with the children to support them achieving so highly and being well prepared for secondary school. It is also very important to thank all the staff who have worked with such commitment to the children throughout their years at St. Dominic’s school and helped them achieve the extremely high SATs results already mentioned.
The Year 6 children led the ‘Leaver’s Mass’ on Tuesday and we were delighted so many parents/carers and family members were able to join us at this very special celebration. During the Mass the children shared memories of their time at the school and celebrated their achievements. We prayed for the children as they begin the next part of their faith journey and for their continued success in the future.
Today the children shared a beautiful ‘Goodbye’ assembly with their families and it was lovely to hear them talk about their years at the school, their achievements and the friends they have made. After the assembly they released balloons with their hopes and dreams for the future attached. The rest of the school and parents joined them for this lovely final celebration and it was very moving for all of us. Goodbye and good luck Year 6, we’ll miss you but know you will continue to do great things in the future.
