The Key Stage 2 Carol Concert took place on Wednesday afternoon, this was the final school concert of this Advent season and a wonderful way to get ready for the end of term. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 classes joined together to tell the story of the Nativity and entertain us with a mixture of modern and traditional hymns and carols.
The concert took place in the Church and was a very special end to all of our recent celebrations in school as we get ready for Christmas. The children sang and performed the story beautifully and every child made a fantastic effort to take part, whether they were part of a choir group, an actor, a soloist or a narrator. As with the Key Stage 1 play, the children sang and performed the story very confidently and professionally and we were very proud of the effort shown by every child to make the concert such a success.
Thanks to all the children and the whole team of staff working with them to ensure the performance was off such a high standard. Rehearsals for concerts began early in November and it has been a real team effort, preparing the children and organising costumes and props. A special thanks to Miss Knight for her work leading rehearsals and to Mr Gamage for helping the children achieve such high standards with their singing. The ‘Silent Night’ hymn sung in both English and German was also a real treat for all of us to enjoy.
It was fantastic to see how well attended this concert also was, thank you parents and family members for your support of the children. Finally, thank you to Fr. Nicholas for hosting the school in the Church and coming back from Oxford early to join us at the concert. We appreciate how welcoming both he and the Parish have been and for making the Church available as often as needed for rehearsals.
