We have had a fantastic week in EYFS learning all about insects and the life cycles of different insects. We started by remembering the life cycle of a butterfly and remembered that it looks different when it comes out of the egg as it is a caterpillar. We used different shaped pasta to represent each stage of the butterfly life cycle and used play dough to model the different stages.  We also discovered that frogs change a lot too, they start as a tadpole and the legs grow over time. We got very messy in our pretend pond! Outside we were so lucky we even found a real ladybird! After looking at it for some time we decided to put it back in the leaves.
