Pancakes in EYFS
This week our key text has been Mr Wolf’s Pancakes. The children enjoyed retelling the story using the different fairy tale characters. On Tuesday, the children in EYFS learnt how to make pancakes and followed the recipe to make them all by themselves, just like Mr Wolf. Miss Rees even got to show off her excellent flipping skills. The children planned the toppings that they wanted on their pancakes and talked about healthy and unhealthy choices. It’s safe to say that the chocolate and banana topping was a firm favourite. The children also had lots of fun playing with the flour; they made marks, wrote their names and phonic sounds and used the flour to fill the different containers. In Maths this week, the children have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes and worked in pairs to add the given shape toppings to their pancakes. What a great start to the half term, super work EYFS!
