Classes throughout the school have been working very hard over the last few weeks to prepare their Nativity plays and Carol concerts and share these with their families. The first Nativity play took place on Tuesday and what a treat it was!
Reception and Years 1 and 2 classes joined together for a wonderful Nativity play called ‘The Grumpy Sheep’. The children told us the story of Jesus’ birth and how everyone was getting ready to celebrate this joyful event –except the Grumpy Sheep! By the end of the story everyone was smiling, including the Grumpy Sheep. All the adults who watched the play were certainly smiling and we were all so impressed with how the children told the story of this special birthday. They acted, sang and read beautifully and were very confident performing in front of so many adults. The children performed their play twice and there was a great turnout from parents, grandparents and other family members on both occasions.
Well done and thank you children, you were fantastic and all the adults watching were very proud of you. Thank you to parent and family members for your help with costumes and practising lines and songs and also for such great support at each play.
Thank you also to all the staff in these classes for their hard work preparing the children. Work has been going on since we came back to school after half term and a special thanks to our music teacher Mr Gamage for his wonderful music and work with the children on the singing. The costumes and scenery were also excellent and took a lot of preparation, thank you Miss Lynn and Miss Stella in Reception, Miss Wooffindin and Mrs Dawson in Year 1 and Miss Rees and Mrs Geary in Year 2.
