St. Dominic's Reading Week

This year we will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair in our school hall after school from Monday 25th November to Friday 29th November.

We have also decided to make it St. Dominic’s Reading Week! Therefore the whole week will have a reading focus with in-school activities that will end in a celebration assembly on the Friday in which one pupil from each class will be rewarded for participation that week.

To celebrate the launch of the Scholastic Book Fair and St. Dominic’s Reading Week, on Monday 25th November, we will be holding a ‘Bed Time Story Day’. On this day, children are invited to wear their pyjamas to school and bring along their favourite bed time story. It will be a great opportunity for all to share their enjoyment of reading. Please ensure pyjamas are suitable and safe for your child to wear throughout the day including at break times.

Following on from requests, this year we will be opening the book fair early on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November for child free shopping. The book fair will be open from 3pm in the school hall on these days.

We are very fortunate that parents are incredibly supportive of this book fair, it is a 100% commission fair which means whatever is spent during the fair is presented to the school. We put all money towards books to refresh our reading corners, much to the excitement of our pupils. As always your ongoing support in our book fairs is very much appreciated.
