World Book Day 2023
Last Thursday St Dominic's celebrated World Book Day by participating in a range of activities; starting with an assembly where we shared the characters we dressed as, found out which books we can purchase with our tokens, and spoke about memorable stories that we all know and love.
The teachers were very impressed with the year six children who read to the younger pupils and worked collaboratively with them in the afternoon. All children enjoyed the special reading room which had been magically transformed by our wonderful support staff. We shared a story together and each child was offered a tasty hot chocolate!
Everyone involved had a terrific day and we would like to say a huge well done and thank you to the children and parents for making an amazing effort with their wonderful costumes and great attitudes to reading for pleasure!
Each child should have now received their token- we hope you have had a chance to use it, and if not you have until 26th March. Our travelling book fair has returned so please be aware that you can purchase books this Thursday and Friday, after your children have had a browse on Wednesday to see which books take their fancy!
