Year 5's Science unit this half term is 'Materials'. In this week's  lesson we were investigating which materials were soluble (would dissolve in water) and which were insoluble( would not dissolve in water). We chose to mix our materials with water as we know that water is the best solvent. We mixed:

sugar, salt, coffee, oil and flour. 

We made careful observations, recorded the results in a table and then wrote our conclusions demonstrating our understanding.
