This week year 5 have been practising their sewing skills. They have developed their cross, running and back stitch in order to sew a Mayan symbol as part of our History topic where we are learning about the Ancient Maya civilisation.  Our end product will be a Maya themed 'patch work' blanket that will demonstrate the children's knowledge and understanding of the Maya beliefs. 

Year 5 are thoroughly enjoying every aspect of sewing.... apart from threading the needle
