Teacher Letters

Monday 13th July

Dear Year 4,

We have reached the final week of school! It has been such a strange school year hasn’t it? But on a more positive note, you have all completed it, stayed positive and tried your best and I am so proud of each and every one of you for how you have dealt with it all. You have all been amazing!! Now you can enjoy your (much deserved) summer holiday with hopefully a little more normality! What have you all got planned?

Now, I have some news that I would like to share with you now the school has announced it on the website officially. Unfortunately, I will not be back at St Dominic’s next year. As you all know I am from Kent (Near Dover as most of you remember it) and I am actually moving back there so unfortunately, I will be moving schools as well. I am so sad that I will not get to see you all again in September but I will regularly check in with Miss Hoare and Miss Martin to see how you are all getting on!

I just want to say that I have absolutely loved teaching all of you this year. You have been a fantastic class to teach and you are all absolutely incredible individuals. You have all grown so much over this past year and I have no doubt you will continue to do amazingly in Year 5. I am so disappointed we didn’t get to have an end of year celebration altogether but you are all going on to bigger and better things and going into the top end of the school! How amazing is that? I hope you’re all excited. You definitely should be!

Thank you for making my time at the school so great. Enjoy your well-deserved summer break.

Please email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to tell me or update me on as I am sure the office will pass them on to me (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk)

Take care, be safe and keep being fantastic.

Miss Jones

Dear Year 4,

I know it has been such a strange end to the school term but there is only 2 more weeks to go until the end of the school term! I am so proud of how each and every one of you has coped during this difficult time and so impressed with how well so many of you have worked at home. I am still missing seeing each of you and I hope you and all your families are well.

What are your plans for the summer break? It will be strange with no holidays and trips abroad this year!

Please continue to email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to update me on (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk)

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Take care,

Miss Jones

Monday 29th June

Dear Year 4,

I hope you are all well. Hasn’t the weather been lovely, we have been so lucky. Maybe even a little too hot?! Although I really shouldn’t complain!

What have you all been up to over the last week?  I know a lot of you have been doing some fantastic work because I have been sent lots of fantastic examples which I love to see. I have also had pictures sent to me of other activities people have been up to. Some people have been out making dens out of logs, some have been baking delicious treats, some have been getting creative and painting! It has been so lovely to see everything you have been getting up to so keep sending me updates whether it is school related or not (It doesn’t have to be!)

I hope you continue to make the most of the beautiful weather and stay safe!

Please continue to email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to update me on (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk)

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Take care,

Miss Jones

Monday 22nd June

Dear Year 4,

How are you? I hope you are all well. We are supposed to have lovely weather this week so I hope you get to make the most of the fresh air and sunshine.

I’m sure a lot of you are pleased to see the football back this week! What did we think of football with no crowds? It was a little strange wasn’t it!

I have had some amazing work sent to me! Keep up the hard work, I love seeing it.

Continue to message me with any questions and work you have done!

Take care and stay safe,

Miss Jones.

Monday 15th June

Hello Year 4!

How are you all? We have not been so fortunate with the weather this week have we! I am missing being able to go out on my bike. This is something I never did before lockdown but I have loved doing for my daily exercise.

I read a really interesting article on CBBC Newsround all about what children will miss about lockdown!

Naturally, we all want normality and to be at school with our friends, see our relatives and do normal activities but it is interesting to think about what we might miss! Shockingly, 43% of children asked said they aren’t looking forward to being back at school! Of course, I’m hoping St Teresa class doesn’t feel that way!!  It is strange to think though -  Is there anything you will miss? Is there anything you’re enjoying more so now than before? Maybe you won’t miss anything at all and will just be glad to go back to normal? I will certainly carry on with my cycling and things I’ve enjoyed (maybe not the baking!).

Here is the article!

Hello Year 4!

I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather and are getting the opportunity to get outside for your daily exercise and make the most of the sunshine and fresh air. I also hope you’re enjoying your half term and a break from learning. I have been reading new books and writing all of your end of year reports! I have also been trying a bit of Yoga and getting my fitness up with some online exercise classes.. What have you all been up to over half term?

Monday 18th May

Hello Year 4!

Once again, I have been blown away by your excellent work and have loved hearing from so many of you. It is so lovely to hear that so many of you are doing well. I know many of you are excited and eager to return to school and I also hope to return soon, but only when it is completely safe for everybody to do so!

You’ll be pleased to know that Miss Jones persevered with her baking and made a delicious banana loaf (even if I do say so myself!) So maybe I’m not a complete write off for The Great British Bake Off  just yet…

Please continue to email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to update me on. (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk.)

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Monday 11th May

Hello Year 4!

I hope you are all doing well and are staying safe!

Again, I have been so impressed with the work I have been shown! I have received lovely messages, photos and even a video of your volcano experiments, which has been fantastic to see! It is so lovely to see you all taking this in your stride and adapting as best you can, I know it is difficult but keep up with the hard work and positivity, you are all doing great!

I have continued with painting and drawing this week and took a break from my terrible baking. How are you being creative?

Please continue to email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to update me on. (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk) I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Take care and stay safe,

Miss Jones

Monday 4th May

Hello Year 4! I hope you are all doing well?

I am still missing teaching you all and having you in class and I am really looking forward to seeing you all again, whenever that is possible!

I am still trying to learn lots of new things to keep busy. I felt inspired by The Great British Bake Off and made scones yesterday.. they were terrible. I am going to try again tomorrow, wish me luck! What have you all been making at home? I’d love to hear all about it and I hope you are more successful than I was (I’m sure you will be!).

How is your reading going? I have been listening to David Walliams’ Elevenses and have found his stories extremely entertaining, I can see why so many of you read them. Have you tried reading a different author recently? Read a book that you’ve loved and not been able to put down? Tell me about them! I would love the book recommendations. I can even put them on here for the class to look at.

I also just want to say a massive well done to all of you. You are all doing a fantastic job of adapting to home schooling during these uncertain times and I have loved reading your emails, they have brightened up my days. Finally, I want to say to those who have sent me photos of their work how impressed I am. Well done and keep up the hard work!

Please continue to email me questions, work you want to show off and anything else you would like to update me on. (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk.)

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Take care and stay safe.

Miss Jones.

Monday 27th April

Dear St Teresa,

I hope you and everybody in your family and households are healthy and doing well. It is certainly a strange time and I am missing having you all in the classroom. I am sure you are all making the most of this situation and being positive by finding new and creative ways to keep yourselves busy and I would love to hear all about them and what you have been up to!

Personally, I have been doing lots of writing, drawing, reading and I have even been trying to learn how to crochet (which is a little like knitting!)

I am going to be posting a weekly message to you all on our class page and I can also use it to answer any of your questions. Please do email the school with any questions you have for me or any general updates you would like to inform me of. I am really looking forward to hearing from all of you! (admin@stdominics.camden.sch.uk)

This week’s lessons will be different. We are going to be using video lessons for Maths and English so there will be a slight change in the topics we have been looking at but it is a great resource and it will seem just like you are in the classroom again! Our Topic will still be ‘The Romans’ for now but in Science we are moving onto ‘Science Rocks’ looking at all the different types of rock. I hope both the volcanos and the Andy Warhol artwork went well. Again, I would love to see them so when you email me, why not attach a picture of your projects?

Take care and stay safe,

Miss Jones
