Teacher Letters

Monday 13th July

Dear St. Patrick,

This is our last and final letter to you all.

I can’t believe the end of the year is approaching, I know at times it has been a little strange but we are all so impressed with how brave and resilient you have been. You have worked so hard during the year and did not complain when things got tough!

You have grown in so many ways, with learning how to read, write, count, add, and take away 2 digit numbers. Throughout the year we have seen how you have become independent, kind caring children. You always look out for each other and it was a pleasure to teach you!

We went on many learning adventures for example going to the CLC, making samosas and gingerbread men. Acting in the nativity play and doing hands on science experiments and creating amazing artworks.

I will be leaving St. Dominic's to make some new adventures, however you will always have a special place in my heart. I will be asking Mrs Dawson about your learning and adventures.

I wish you all the best in Year 2 and I know you will all do so well. I would love to hear from you all. Your new teacher will love you so much!

For the summer holidays, I will go and visit parts of England and go to Croatia. I am looking forward to going swimming in the ocean and reading a good book.

I hope you all have a safe, restful holiday.

Love Ms Wooffindin and Mrs Dawson

Monday 6th July

Dear St Patrick,

I hope you had a fantastic week? We have enjoyed doing the Oak Academy Online Lessons, in particular, we enjoyed writing instructions on how to grow sunflowers.

In Maths, we have been learning about making equal groups, rows and arrays. Our cubes helped us solve these word problems.

We have enjoyed writing our own prayers to God and thanked him for guiding us during this difficult time.

We are all very excited as our sunflowers have started growing really tall and we can’t wait to plant them.

We have loved having Ms Guppy and Ms Clement in our class and doing fun activities with them.

We hope you are all safe and happy.

Love always,

Ms Wooffindin and Mrs Dawson

Monday 22nd June

Dear St Patrick,

I hope you had a fantastic week?

We have been busy at school we studied the artist Vincent Van Gough and the students drew some amazing pictures. We used his style and colours and they did a fantastic job!

We have enjoyed doing the Oak Academy Online Lessons, in particular, we enjoyed making up our own creature and writing an information text. We thought about the appearance, habitat and diet.

In Maths, we have been learning about making equal groups and repeated addition. Our cubes helped us solve these word problems.

So far, four of our sun flowers have grown, we hope that they will all grow very soon.

Mrs Dawson has enjoyed being with the Reception kids but misses St Patricks so much

We all hope you are safe and happy

Love always

Monday 22nd June

Dear St Patrick,

I hope you had a fantastic week?

We have been busy at school planting our sun flowers. We enjoyed reading a big book about how to plant them and wrote in our diary. We are looking forward to seeing them start to grow. We must water them often and give them some sunlight.  Has anyone else grown anything at home? Isabella told me she is growing vegetables and Teddy a strawberry plant.

We have enjoyed doing the Oak Academy Online Lessons, in particular, reading the Man On the Moon we pretended we were an astronaut and wrote our own recount about it we focused on using time connections and writing in the past tense. We also did an artwork to go with our stories.

In Maths, we have been learning about money and recognising coins and adding amounts together. We are keen to use our knowledge of money, next time we go to Tescos!

We used chalk outside to draw hop scotch and enjoyed drawing rainbows too. Also enjoyed doing Cosmic Yoga and Just Dance to keep our bodies active.

Mrs Dawson has enjoyed being with the Reception kids but misses St Patricks so much.

It is great that I see most of you every day in some way. We all hope you are safe and happy

Love always

Ms Wooffindin and Mrs Dawson

Monday 11th May,

Dear St Patrick's,

I hope you have had a fantastic week and you enjoyed doing the online lessons.  I had a great week getting to know my new bunny, I decided to call him Mr Darcy. He loves to eat hay and has learnt how to jump on and off my bed. I took him to the vet to get injections so next week he can run around outside.

I spoke to Mrs Dawson she has been reading and cooking delicious food for her family. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Monday 4th May

Dear St Patrick's,

I hope you have a fantastic week and you enjoyed doing the online lessons. I’m looking forward to hearing all about your learning. Lily B sent me a message about her learning and did a fantastic poster about staying safe online. Next week, I am getting a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, do you have any names I could call him? Write back with your ideas, my flatmate and I have been busy getting his home ready. I talked to Mrs Dawson she has been very busy with painting and cleaning the house. The dog has been washed many times. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
