Welcome to St Dominic's School
A message from the Head Teacher
St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school with an ethos based on Faith, Community and a true partnership between school and the families of the children we teach. Our school life is rich in opportunities to learn and to worship, both as individuals and as part of a strong, supportive environment.
Our distinctive Catholic nature and ethos is at the heart of St. Dominic's school. Every child is unique and created in God's image, with their own special and unique purpose in this life. The love and teachings of Jesus help us in our relationships with each other and with God. We have good links with our Parish and prayer and celebration are an important part of our life together at school.
We are totally committed to the development of each child, to offer them the very best start to their formal education and to support their faith. We aim to provide an education that is rich in opportunities and experiences and one which influences a lifelong love of learning.
Every child deserves the best possible education opportunities whilst in our care. At St. Dominic's we have a wonderful team of staff who encourage each child to achieve their full potential, learn together and achieve in a wide variety of areas. Our children are offered a broad and diverse curriculum which helps them to develop their own individual gifts and talents and become independent, life-long learners. We want all of our children to aspire to "Be the best you can be." This is reflected in our consistently improving pupil outcomes and achievements.
Following a successful refurbishment we have a wonderful indoor and outdoor environment for children to learn and play in. We provide a stimulating and creative academic curriculum, together with a strong tradition of music and sport to help children become independent and confident learners. Our Nursery is an attractive, spacious and colourful learning environment with the most up to date facilities to encourage children to develop successfully and progress securely onto “big school”.
We also take advantage of the wonderful resources available nearby, such as Hampstead Heath and the City Farm, as well as Museums and Galleries in London to support our curriculum topics in all year groups. This ensures our curriculum offers children opportunities to deepen their understanding and enjoy and achieve in their learning.
We look forward to welcoming you to St. Dominic's School community.
